I realize that Haymitch can be a jerkface, but that moment in Mockingjay when he held Katniss when she was crying shows that he does care about her and Peeta, and the difficulty he has with expressing the fact that he cares is what I like about him.

Because under all that drink and sarcasm, he really cares. He’s not a bad guy.
